Welcome to the Robeson County Humane Society No-Kill Animal Shelter

Robeson County's Only Privately Funded, State Licensed "No-Kill"
501(c)3 Rescue Organization!

RCHS is celebrating it's 25th year anniversary as Robeson County's only no-kill animal rescue facility. A faithful & tireless group of volunteers, members & staff who have been selflessly giving cats and dogs a new start in life. Showing these forgotten critters a better and more compassionate way of life.

We are a State approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping cats and dogs. We were founded to find loving homes for adoptable animals, and promote responsible pet ownership throughout the county with an emphasis on spaying and neutering.

The Robeson County Humane Society Animal Shelter's volunteers and staff provide care for adoptable dogs and cats that live there until appropriate forever homes are found for them.

The Society also welcomes gifts of time, talent, and treasure. There are many volunteer opportunities both at the shelter and with other Humane Society projects. You can also get up to date on some of our past and present events and some of the "wish-list  projects" at our shelter by downloading & browsing our

quarterly newsletter

This is one of the worst cases of mange and malnutrition RCHS has come across in quite a while. Poor Squirrel was found locally here in Lumberton as a stray pup. She may have wandered off looking for food, or the last of a litter somebody didn't want or could not find a home for. Either way, she is safe and on the road to recovery after some strong antibiotics to help her oozing sores and some pain meds to help comfort her. She will still need another mange dip, and lots of extra care and medicine. She's about 7 months old, weighs approx. 24 pounds, is up to date on all vaccinations, de-wormed, and will come with a spay voucher that will cover a portion of the procedure. She's very sweet and low key. She would love a fur-ever home and would make anyone a great companion. Her adoption fee is $200. Her ID is DF1606020. An application is available by clicking on the following link >

You can email it back to us at rchsfriendsforlife@gmail.com, or fax it to 910-738-8685.
All animals at RCHS are up to date on vaccinations, tested for Felv/Fiv, heart worm and treated if positive, de-wormed and spayed or neutered if over the age of 6 months. If they are younger than 6 months, the adopter receives a voucher that is good at any vet and covers a portion of the procedure. For more info on how to adopt, please email us at rchsfriendsforlife@gmail.com or call the shelter at 910-738-8282. Robeson county Humane Society is a non-profit no-kill State recognized 501c3 that operates primarily from donations, fundraisers and volunteers, with minimal Government support. What We are all about

Our primary goal is to rescue and find appropriate placement for homeless animals.  Adoptable and treatable animals that demonstrate no signs of aggression will remain at our facility until the right home is found for them. We believe in educating our community about responsible pet ownership, and the humane treatment of animals. We also practice progressive spay/neuter and adoption programs. Adoption applications are not necessarily approved on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to find the right family for the right animal, and the right animal for the right family. Therefore, we reserve the right to approve applications that appear to be the best fit for both the adopter and the adoptee.
